Metal band Avenged Sevenfold to play Omaha's CenturyLink Center in October
By Kevin Coffey / World-Herald staff writer

Come Oct. 22, metal music will ring in the halls of the CenturyLink Center.

California-based metal band Avenged Sevenfold will release its new album, "Hail to the King," on Aug. 27 and follow with its "Hail to the King Tour" in October. Joining the group will be alternative metal group Deftones and Swedish heavy metal band Ghost B.C.

Avenged Sevenfold is known for songs such as "Nightmare," "Almost Easy," and "Bat Country." This summer, the group is headlining Montreal's "Heavy MTL" festival and Pennsylvania's Musikfest.

"The new album has a lot more of a Sabbath/Zeppelin feel to it," singer M. Shadows told UK magazine Metal Hammer. "There's definitely more Sabbath in what we're writing (and) this album is going to be on a whole new level."

Tickets to the Omaha concert go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 2 at Ticketmaster.com, Ticketmaster retail outlets, the CenturyLink Center box office or by phone at 800-745-3000.
