An Omaha woman who was nine months pregnant had her water break Thursday afternoon in a car crash, police said.
Medical workers began the “delivery procedure'' for Emily C. Klug, 32, after the crash near 146th Street and West Center Road, said Sgt. Doug Klein.
Klug was taken by ambulance to Methodist Women's Hospital. She was in stable condition Thursday night, a hospital spokeswoman said. No other information was available.
The crash occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. According to police:
Klug, driving a 2004 Jeep Cherokee, was eastbound on West Center Road. The driver of a 2003 Suzuki XL7 was heading west on West Center Road, trying to turn left onto 146th Street, when the vehicles collided.
The Suzuki driver, Sarah D. Genereux, 33, of Omaha was not hurt, police said. She was ticketed on suspicion of failure to yield, Klein said.
