Paramedics were called to two incidents at the Owl Ride, a nighttime cycling event in Omaha, this weekend.
One person injured a hip after their bicycle wheel hit the railroad track just outside the Old Mattress Factory near 12th and Cass Streets at the start of the ride. A police officer who was directing traffic nearby called 911.
Another ambulance was called to a medical emergency later in the event, according to volunteers. Organizers were not aware of the person's condition or the names of the two individuals.
Roughly 2,000 people pedaled through Omaha Saturday night for the ride. It began at 10 p.m. Riders followed one of two routes. The eight-mile course winded through downtown and midtown Omaha. The 17-mile route covered Dundee and Aksarben Village, too.
