Take a look at John Cook’s golf bag and it’s hard to miss the Ohio State logo stamped on the front.
Cook, an Ohio native who lettered at Ohio State from 1977 to ’79, smiles when you ask about it.
“I have a buckeye, too,” said Cook about the nut of a buckeye tree. “There’s one right in there.”
The clubs take up most of the space.
Cook has a TaylorMade R1 driver, TaylorMade RocketBallz woods, TaylorMade MB irons, TaylorMade wedges at 54 and 58 degrees and a Scotty Cameron putter. He’ll also be carrying an Adams Prototype hybrid, what he calls “the lifter.”
And maybe a bag of nuts. If he remembers to pack it.
“I should (bring food) much more often than I do,” he said.
