Tarkio, Mo., to have air show Saturday
The Wing Nuts Flying Circus Air Show will perform Saturday at Gould Peterson Memorial Airport in Tarkio, Mo.
Civilian and vintage military aircraft will be on the ground and in the air. Main events and fly-bys will begin at noon.
Other show attractions will include a demonstration, the AeroShell T-6 Aerobatic Team, the Texas Flying Legends, and demonstrations of a helicopter, World War II training, a Corsair, a Japanese Zero and a Beechcraft Texan II.
Admission will be $10 for adults and free for ages 5 and younger.
Preschoolers to learn about fireflies
Shine a light on fireflies. Bring children ages 3 to 5 to Narrows River Park in Council Bluffs at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to discover the difference between male and female fireflies and find out how their lights glow.
KinderNature preschool programs are designed for children accompanied by an adult. Programs are full of hands-on learning and outdoor activities that encourage curious minds to explore and engage with the natural world.
Cost: $5 per child. Narrows River Park is at 2500 N. 25th St. in the Bluffs.
‘Viener’ dogs rule at Germanfest
Germanfest 2013 will be Saturday and Sunday in Syracuse, Neb.
Saturday events will include a 5K run and youth run, 10:30 a.m. kiddie parade followed by 11 a.m. grand parade, two-block beer garden, “Viener” dog races, “Viener Vogue” dog fashion show, children’s events, live music, community market, 5 p.m. RibFest, street dance and fireworks.
