Concert, fireworks at Memorial Park
Bank of the West Celebrates America, a concert and fireworks show at Memorial Park, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday. The pyrotechnics will follow the concert.
Grammy winner Pat Benatar and her husband, Neil Giraldo, will perform, as will Loverboy.
The series is in its 23rd year.
Child ID program offered Saturday
The Nebraska Prince Hall Freemasons invite parents of children 18 and younger to have their children participate in a free Child Identification Program. It will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2428 Franklin St.
Parents will get a CD that includes a brief interview with each child plus the child’s digital photograph and digital fingerprints. Professionals also will make a Toothprint of the child and take DNA cheek swabs. All materials are given to parents; no copies are made.
Nat Hunter Masonic Lodge 12 under the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge in Omaha will sponsor the event.
Limestone Days set in Weeping Water
Weeping Water, Neb., will celebrate Limestone Days on Saturday.
Events will include a fishing tournament, fun run, library book walk and book sale, softball tournament, 10 a.m. parade on Main Street, horseshoe tournament, craft sale and flea market, plus races for bicycles, tricycles and canoes. For details, click .
