Family members describe Jessica L. Kock Blum as a woman with “a very big heart” who “shared her love with everyone.”
Blum, 25, died unexpectedly Sunday at the Nebraska Medical Center, said her husband, Jeremy Blum of Omaha. An autopsy has been performed, and the family is awaiting the results, he said.
The Blums had been married for four years. They met at Omaha Bryan High School, from which she graduated in 2005.
She had been working as a residential assistant for ENCOR (the Eastern Nebraska Community Office of Retardation and Developmental Disabilities) for the past three years, her husband said.
Besides her husband, other survivors, all Omahans, include her father, Tom Kock; a brother, Jeff Kock; and a sister, Jennifer Kock.
Jessica Blum was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Kock.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at Korisko-Larkin-Staskiewicz Funeral Home Chapel, 5108 F St.
