Two women who had been fighting and rolling in the street were run over by a car Monday night, killing one and critically injuring the other, authorities said.
The incident happened about 11:40 p.m. in the 5400 block of Fontenelle Boulevard.
Omaha police on Tuesday identified the woman who was killed as Sherrial Onderi, 23.
Kimberly Nelson, 34, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Creighton University Medical Center.
The fight started on the north side of Fontenelle Boulevard and moved into the street, said Omaha Police Sgt. Doug Klein, a traffic accident investigator.
The driver of the car, a Nissan Altima, stopped after hitting the women and showed no signs of alcohol use, Klein said.
The Douglas County attorney would likely review the case to determine if any charges would be filed, the sergeant said.
