Thursday marked the latest date that accumulating snow is known to have fallen in Omaha.
So if any more of the fluffy stuff falls this month, the city will be setting another May snow record.
The city's already set three snow records this month.
Based on records dating to 1884, the May 1-2 snowfall set Omaha records for most snow in May, 3.1 inches; most snow on May 1, 1.9 inches; and most snow on May 2, 1.2 inches.
The latest spring snowfall in Omaha was the 2 inches that accumulated on May 9, 1945.
That record is probably safe this year.
The coldest weather in the foreseeable forecast is this weekend, but there's no precipitation accompanying the cold.
Clear skies Saturday night will allow temperatures to drop into the 30s. Otherwise, temperatures generally are warming up and will be too high for any expected rain to fall as snow.
