The endorsements continued Tuesday in the race to represent Subdistrict 3 — Dundee and northwest Omaha — on the Omaha Public Schools board.
School board President Marian Fey announced the support of Douglas County Treasurer John Ewing and State Sen. Sara Howard, who represents midtown Omaha in the Nebraska Legislature.
Both are Democrats, as is Fey; the school board race is officially nonpartisan.
Fey also shared that several business community members support her campaign, including Chris Kilroy, a midtown financial adviser; Kurt Goetzinger, the president of the Benson Business Association; and Molly Romero, a Dundee neighborhood and business leader.
Fey's opponent, Woody Bradford, a registered independent, has announced his own endorsements, including those from Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman, a Republican; Avenue Scholars President Ken Bird; and Democrat Bob Kerrey, who served as Nebraska's governor and as a U.S. senator.
Bradford also recently announced the support of several Omaha state senators: Brad Ashford, an independent; Burke Harr, a Democrat; and Bob Krist and John Nelson, both Republicans.
