The Omaha Education Association has completed its slate of candidate endorsements for the coming Omaha school board election.
The association, which represents teachers in the Omaha Public Schools, threw its support this week behind Katie Underwood in Subdistrict 7, Lacey Merica in Subdistrict 8 and Sarah Brumfield in Subdistrict 9.
The teacher's union earlier announced its recommendations in Subdistricts 1 through 6: Yolanda Williams, Marque Snow, Marian Fey, Justin Wayne, Lou Ann Goding, Nancy Kratky and Matt Scanlan.
The association judged candidates on their view of public education and their support for the role teachers play in developing strong classrooms. A union committee interviewed the candidates, and the union's political action committee approved the committee's recommendations. The recommended candidates are eligible to receive union PAC funds. — Julie Anderson
