Nebraska, get your pink accessories ready. Registration opened May 1 for the state’s two 2013 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events.
The Central Nebraska Race for the Cure will be held September 28 in Kearney, and Nebraska Race for the Cure will be October 6 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.
Participants can choose between a 5K run, 5K walk or 1-mile family fun walk.
Last year, the Omaha event drew nearly 16,000 participants, and Kearney drew more than 1,300.
The Kearney event is $25, and Omaha is $30. Children ages 3-12 are $10, and those under 3 can participate for free but must also register.
Breast cancer survivors can participate in all Race Day activities at no charge.
