LOS ANGELES — Two Nebraska gymnasts bagged a total of six All-America honors in Session I of the NCAA women's gymnastics championships Friday.
Emily Wong earned first-team accolades on vault, floor and in the all-around and second-team honors on beam. Jessie DeZiel also snagged second-team honors on beam and in the all-around.
Wong's four All-America honors are the most for any Husker since Emily Parsons earned four in 2005. Wong will take the floor in the individual event finals at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Meanwhile, top-ranked Florida rallied in the final rotation to win its first team title Saturday.
In last place after the first rotation when two gymnasts fell on the balance beam, Florida closed with a flourish on the bars to finish with a score of 197.575. Oklahoma finished second at 197.375, and two-time defending champion Alabama took was third at 197.350.
