DES MOINES — Three fire departments in eastern Iowa have been awarded federal grants aimed at improving response time to emergencies.
Departments in Asbury, Marengo and Charlotte will share nearly $140,000 from a firefighters assistance program run by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
The money will be used for training, protective equipment and other supplies that allow more effective response time to emergencies. — AP
