The Huskers’ new arena will have a distinctly old-school feel.
The most distinctive feature of the Pinnacle Bank Arena court, unveiled by the University of Nebraska on Thursday, is the return of the outline of the state of Nebraska at center court — a look that graced the Devaney Center floor from 1986 to 1996.
The floor also features the “Block N” logo at center court and a star on the map denoting Lincoln as the state capital. The court will also have a darker stain between the key and 3-point line, Big Ten logos at each foul line and a pair of First National Bank logos. Nebraska owns the naming rights for the court, which have not yet been awarded.
Associate Athletic Director Marc Boehm said the floor design was a collaborative effort in consultation with NU’s athletic department administration, both basketball coaching staffs and fans.
