Omaha police said two people, including a toddler, were injured slightly Sunday night by shotgun pellets fired at a home near North 61st Street and Ames Avenue.
Police said the shooting, which occurred about 10:30 p.m., injured an 18-month-old and a 45-year-old woman. The toddler was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with minor injuries.
A witness told officers that a small group of people was on the front porch of the home when a gunshot was heard.
Officers arrested Roland Hanley, 25, who was across the street from the home, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony assault and one count of possession of a short shotgun.
Also Sunday night, police said a 40-year-old man was injured in a cutting in South Omaha.
Officers were summoned to Veterans Administration Hospital about 9:10 p.m. to investigate the cutting. The victim said he had been stabbed near 22nd and U Streets during a confrontation with three people. The victim, whose injuries were minor, was driven to the hospital by a friend.
