TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-— The Nebraska men's track and field team finished first Saturday at the Crimson Tide Invitational, while the women's team placed second.
The Husker men finished with 149 points to outpace host Alabama by 32, while the NU women finished with 108.5 points to Penn State's 115.5.
Chad Wright won his second discus title of the outdoor season for the Huskers, posting a season-best throw of 195 feet, 6 inches. That mark ranks fifth in the NCAA this season and leads the Big Ten.
Seth Wiedel won the long jump with mark of 23-4, while Craig Driver claimed the pole vault title with a mark of 16-8ĺ.
Miles Ukaoma had the NU men's only win in a track event, taking first in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.80 — a mark that ranks second in the Big Ten.
On the women's side, Morgan Wilken completed the Huskers' sweep of the discus titles with a throw of 168-8. Mara Weekes added a title in 100 meters, finishing in 11.98 seconds.
