Omaha police say a single-vehicle traffic accident late Wednesday night left a man critically injured.
The accident occurred about 11:55 p.m. on John J. Pershing Drive just south of Dodge Park, officials said.
The man was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in critical condition.
A 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Johnny Brown, 35, of Omaha was northbound on Pershing Drive when the vehicle went off the road to the east, overcorrected and veered off the road to the west where it struck a brick retaining wall, police said.
Brown was the only person in the Explorer, officials said.
He suffered head and abdominal injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.
Brown was cited for colliding with a fixed object and driving during suspension.
