The UNO softball team's doubleheader with North Dakota on Monday has been canceled because the real-feel temperature did not reach 32 degrees.
The doubleheader was initially set for 1 p.m. but was pushed back an hour three times to try and allow the field to dry and the temperature to warm up. But a decision was made at 1:45 p.m. that the non-conference series would be canceled.
North Dakota was already in town after playing at Northern Colorado over the weekend. UND will travel to Vermillion, S.D., to play South Dakota twice Tuesday. The UNO-UND series will not be made up.
The Mavericks will return to action this weekend at Kansas City. UNO plays the Kangaroos on Saturday at 1 and 3 p.m. and on Sunday at noon.
