COUNCIL BLUFFS — Council Bluffs Trees Forever is sponsoring the “Residential Tree Program” for MidAmerican Energy Co. customers again this spring.
Applications are available at cbparksandrec.org at the “Plant Some Shade Program” link under the “City Trees” tab and at the Pottawattamie County Conservation office in the courthouse annex at 223 S. Sixth St.
The program is first come, first served and limited to two trees per household. Tree species available are bur oak, sugar maple, hackberry, glenleven littleleaf linden, redbud and Norway spruce. The cost of a tree is $30, and applications will be accepted until April 22. Trees may be picked up from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. April 27 at Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino.
Other partners in the program are the Iowa Department of Natural the Resources, Pottawattamie County Conservation Board and the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation.
