A man police say is a person of interest in an Omaha killing has been accused of hitting a former girlfriend’s vehicle with a hammer.
A warrant charging Tracy N. Parnell, 21, with criminal mischief over $1,500, a felony, was issued March 14. Police have not been able to find him.
A former girlfriend told officers she got into an argument March 11 with Parnell. As she was preparing to leave in a vehicle, Parnell hit it with a hammer, police said.
Parnell is accused of threatening a woman with a gun in October, two days before she was shot and a cousin was slain.
Nakia Johnson was threatened by Parnell, who police have said is a Crip gang member. Parnell was angry because Johnson had invited her boyfriend, a Blood, into an apartment, police have said.
In that case, a judge ordered Parnell to stand trial on charges of making terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon. All are felonies. Parnell posted 10 percent of a $10,000 bail Feb. 14.
Nakia Johnson was shot and a cousin, Eriana Carr, 16, was slain Oct. 30. No one has been charged.
Police asked anyone with information to call them at 402-444-5652 or CrimeStoppers at 402-444-7867.
