Pat Davis announced Thursday that she will run a write-in campaign to hold her seat on the Omaha Public Schools board.
Davis was appointed March 4 to replace Freddie Gray, who resigned in January.
Davis filed paperwork this week with the Douglas County Election Commission, making her eligible as a write-in candidate for the May 14 general election. She is running in Subdistrict 1.
Five candidates have filed for the April 2 primary ballot in that subdistrict: James English, Yolanda Williams, Aja Anderson, LeDonna White York and Larry Taylor.
Davis is the executive director of Minority Outreach Resource Education, an advocacy organization that works to help families with special-needs children.
“I am going to be a write-in candidate because I’m already there, and there are a lot of people who want me there,” she said.
