Jays come up short against Fairfield

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The Creighton men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 setback to Fairfield in a neutral-site match in Florida Monday.

The Bluejays (3-3) won a pair of singles matches, but Fairfield (6-2) swept the top four singles matches to secure the win.

Creighton's first win came at No. 5 singles when freshman Quinn Dippel earned a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Cameron Amyot. Freshman Anthony Rauschenbach dropped the first set against Bjorn Merinder before winning the next two to give Creighton its other point.

Creighton returns Tuesday with two neutral-site matches against Saint Ambrose and Robert Morris in Orlando, Fla.
