The Omaha opening of Taylor Swift's "Red" tour is still nearly a week away, but you wouldn't know that to visit the CenturyLink Center.
Red semis pulling trailers emblazoned with Swift's photo and the tour logo have arrived at the venue, where Swift will play Wednesday and March 14, kicking off her North American tour.
CenturyLink Center spokeswoman Kristi Andersen confirmed that stage crew had arrived.
As for Swift, rumors of her Nebraska arrival swirled around Omaha on Thursday. But so far, there have been no confirmed sightings of the 23-year-old red-lipped crossover artist, in the CenturyLink Center or elsewhere.
There were whisperings that Swift would arrive in Omaha Thursday afternoon, with the Omaha Central High School Marching Band welcoming her to the CenturyLink Center.
The school was contacted about welcoming Swift yesterday, a Central spokeswoman said.
"The marching band was going to play to greet her," she said. "We didn't really have time to prepare anything, so we were going to play something we knew."
Band members set about practicing the school's fight song, but on Thursday, Swift's travel plans apparently changed and the welcome concert was called off.
"Our kids are sad," the spokeswoman said. "(The concert) got them all excited and then boom."
