NU sweeps, gives coach milestone

Stillwater, Okla. — In the first game Sunday, Tatum Edwards’ shutout sparked No. 25 Nebraska. In the nightcap, the offense got the job done against one of the country’s best pitching staffs as the Huskers completed a sweep of Oklahoma State 3-0 and 10-5.

Sunday’s wins gave Rhonda Revelle her 768th career victory to move past former baseball coach John Sanders atop the school’s all-time, all-sport coaching wins chart.

The milestone came as NU (14-5) racked up the most runs all season against a Cowgirl team that entered the day with a team ERA of 1.62.

Senior Brooke Thomason and freshmen Alicia Armstrong and Dawna Tyson each homered in the nightcap.

In the opener, Tyson and freshman Hailey Decker hit solo shots to back Edwards’ four-hitter.

It was the Huskers’ first win at Cowgirl Stadium since 2006.

Oklahoma State is 7-11.

Nebraska is on the road again next weekend, traveling to Wichita State for a three-game series Saturday and Sunday.
