Snow is forecast to fall in Omaha during the early part of this week, though the timing and amounts expected remained nebulous late Saturday.
Snow showers are expected early Monday, said Josh Boustead, a National Weather Service meteorologist. More significant snowfall, 2 to 4 inches, will accumulate in Omaha on Monday night and Tuesday, he said.
AccuWeather Inc., The World-Herald’s weather consultant, forecast a bit more snow, and said it would fall sooner. The city could see 3 to 6 inches of snow, beginning this evening and continuing through Monday, said Dan Pydynowski, a senior AccuWeather meteorologist.
As happened with the storm Thursday and Friday in which 8 inches fell in Omaha, the heaviest snow will fall in Kansas and Missouri, Boustead and Pydynowski said.
Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph could blow through Omaha on Monday, with lighter sustained winds throughout the day, Pydynowski said.
