After a down year for concerts at CenturyLink Center Omaha, things are ticking up at the arena, but only a little.
The arena moved up two spots, from No. 163 to No. 161, in the year-end rankings from concert industry publication Pollstar.
After the third quarter of last year, the CenturyLink Center was ranked No. 163 with 46,691 tickets sold. From October to December, the arena sold 22,959 more concert tickets and rose two spots to No. 161.
It's the worst yearly ranking yet for the venue. In 2011, the arena ranked No. 56. Its highest ranking was No. 17 in 2004.
Arena officials attributed the downturn to fewer artists touring and less money in consumer pockets.
The CenturyLink Center is poised to do well over the next year. Zac Brown Band's concert this week sold out, and coming concerts from Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Kid Rock and Carrie Underwood are expected to be popular.
Omaha's Orpheum Theater also popped up on the top venues lists. The theater ranked No. 35 on the top 100 worldwide theatre venues list. It sold 143,112 concert tickets, dropping from 16th place in 2011, when it sold 224,524 tickets.
