A 54-year-old Omaha man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition Tuesday night following a one-vehicle accident near 30th Avenue and McKinley Road.
Don C. Losole III – the cousin of the Lo Sole Mio restaurant owner of the same name – was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center with life-threatening head injuries, according to Officer Michael Pecha, a police spokesman.
The hospital said no further information is available for Losole.
Investigators determined that Losole was driving a 2003 Mercedes SL55 sedan north on 30th Avenue, approaching McKinley Road at high-rate of speed about 9:45 p.m. when the car failed to navigate a curve. The car traveled through a grassy field, became airborne and struck a tree.
Losole, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car as it rolled and came to a stop behind Omaha Fire Department Station 23 at 9090 N. 30th St.
