Two of the state’s four swimming and diving conference championship meets started Thursday with finals in 1-meter diving.
Lanie Snyder of Millard West and Tyler Dvorak of Papillion-La Vista/Papillion-La Vista South were the Metro Conference girls and boys champions while Ashlie Izzo of Lincoln High and Austin Alexander of Lincoln Northeast won the Heartland Conference titles.
The Metro and Heartland meets continue Friday with preliminary rounds in all 11 swimming events with finals on Saturday.
Competition in two other conference meets — the River Cities meet at Ralston and the Greater Nebraska Athletic meet in Hastings — both are one-day events on Saturday. The state’s other two swimming teams — Elkhorn/Elkhorn South and Lincoln Pius X — are scheduled for a dual meet on Friday.
