Entrepreneurial leaders, including representatives from Nebraska and Iowa, are meeting with officials in Washington, D.C., today to discuss innovation and plans to expand their startup ecosystems.
More than 10 regions from the Startup America Partnership will attend the private meeting to detail plans to build statewide partners that strengthen businesses, particularly in traditional sectors like agriculture, energy, water, and transportation.
The Startup America Partnership is a group of founders, experts and resources that provide startups access to corporations, investors and services. CEO and board member Scott Case recently served as a national judge for Pipeline's Innovator of the Year competition.
Tom Chapman and Steven Kiene of Nebraska Global, a venture capital fund that works to sustain economic development in Nebraska by creating for-profit software companies, will represent Startup Nebraska in the meeting. Representatives from the Small Business Administration, Office of Science and Technology Policy and the Department of Commerce will also be in attendance.
