A 21-year-old man died in a shooting in which three others were injured late Friday night at the Lothrop Social Hall, 24th and Lothrop Streets.
Police identified the victim who was killed as Jacquez L. Lewis, with no address provided.
It was Omaha's third homicide of the year.
A 14-year-old girl also was shot, as were two other men. The girl was identified by police as Aleeah Whitcomb and the men as Tahfahn Dennis, 20, and Omar Williams, 22.
The girl was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center. Her condition was not immediately available, but police believe her injuries were not life threatening. Dennis and Williams were both treated at Creighton University Medical Center and released.
Lewis lived in Omaha, as did the three other victims.
A police statement said the shooting was reported at 11:47 p.m. Friday. Police said two of the shooting victims were found inside the hall.
Several police officers Saturday morning walked about outside the building. It wasn't clear how many officers were inside.
Occasionally someone would arrive at the social hall to pick up a car that had been left there overnight or held by police. Others stopped and asked what happened.
One young man said he had been in the hall when the shooting began. He said he didn't see who was doing the shooting but certainly heard the gunshots.
What did he do? "Run."
