LINCOLN — Nebraska long jumpers Patrick Raedler and Mara Griva won individual titles during the first day of the Frank Sevigne Invitational at the Devaney Center indoor track.
Raedler, a junior, jumped 25 feet, 5ľ inches, a personal best and a mark that ties him for fourth nationally. Griva, a senior, is sixth nationally after leaping 20 feet, 4Ĺ inches Friday.
Junior Trevor Vidlak was second in the 5,000-meter race. The Huskers also had three third-place finishers — redshirt freshman Christian Sanderfer (pole vault), junior Anne Martin (pentathlon) and senior Katie White (5,000).
Senior Teran Walford, out of York, finished the first day of the heptathlon competition in fourth place with 2,875 points. The heptathlon will kick off Saturday's action at 10 a.m. Other events are set to begin at noon.
