DINING NOTES

Old Market Vincenzo's closed
By Sarah Baker Hansen
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

Vincenzo's in the Old Market has closed.

Owner Bill Whitley said he and his business partner's lease at the downtown space was nearly up and they decided after many months of consideration not to renew.

He said this week's power outage in the Old Market caused the restaurant to lose several thousand dollars worth of food. The loss was a factor in the restaurant's abrupt closure.

"We are focusing our efforts and energies into our newer location at 157th and Pacific Streets," he said.

At least some of the employees from the downtown location will relocate out west.

The restaurant was at 1207 Harney St. This spring, Vincenzo's moved its west location to Pacific Street from 144th and Blondo Streets. The phone number at the remaining Omaha location is 402-498-3889.
