The Nebraska Liquor Control Commission has canceled the liquor license for Omaha's Halo Ultra Lounge at 17525 Gold Plaza, the bar's owner said.
Chris Jones said the bar will stay open as it appeals the decision.
The cancellation stems from an incident in June, Jones said.
The bar runs a promotion every Wednesday in which patrons can buy a bracelet for $8 and then buy drinks for 1 cent, Jones said.
One night, a new bartender forgot to take the penny charged per drink, he said, a violation of liquor laws.
Undercover State Patrol investigators reported the violation, he said.
The cancellation came at a Monday hearing that covered other violations at the address, including a disturbance charge and a minor being allowed to consume alcohol.
The commission approved the license for the bar in 2011 under the condition that it have no violations for two years.
“We do understand that we were in the wrong, but I'd like a chance to remedy that,” Jones said.
Commission members did not return calls seeking comment.
