Papillion police said Wednesday that an 18-year-old Radio Shack employee shot in the leg during a robbery is being treated at the Nebraska Medical Center and doing well.
Lt. Chris Whitted said the name of the employee is being withheld pending further investigation of the incident. At the time of the robbery, Whitted said, there were two male employees on duty and no customers in the store at 802 Tara Plaza. A third employee had left on store-related business about 15 minutes earlier.
The employees at the store told police that two men wearing all black clothing, black ski masks and sunglasses entered the store about 8:20 p.m. An employee standing at the counter was ordered into a back storage area where the second employee was working.
Whitted said the suspects ordered both employees to the floor and the employee who had been working in the back room was shot in the thigh, despite cooperating with the robbers. The uninjured employee was ordered to return to the front of the store, where the robbers took an undisclosed amount of money and some electronic devices.
Whitted said police are investigating whether two other suspects may have entered the store near the end of the robbery. Police also investigating whether that robbery is connected to one 20 minutes earlier and about a mile away at the Little Ceasar's restaurant in Ralston near 83rd and Harrison Streets.
