Omaha police believe two men committed armed robberies on consecutive days this week by targeting women in their vehicles.
In both cases, police said, the women had just left a bank.
About 1:30 p.m. Friday, a dark, four-door sedan pulled in front of a woman who had stopped her vehicle at a parking lot entrance near 72nd Street and Ames Avenue.
The men inside opened the woman's door, displayed a gun and demanded money. After taking her wallet, the men left and drove east, said Officer James Shade, a police spokesman.
Officers in a police helicopter searched for the men but did not find them.
A robbery occurred under identical circumstances about noon Thursday near 91st and Fort Streets, Shade said.
Police told local banks of the robberies and to be aware of suspicious activity.
Shade said anyone with information should call police at 402-444-5626. To report information anonymously, call Crime Stoppers at 402-444-7867.
