Three people were seriously injured early Wednesday in a melee at a north Lincoln social hall.
The brawl erupted about 2:30 a.m. at the Welfare Society Inc. social hall on North 10th Street during a holiday party, said Katie Flood of the Lincoln Police Department.
She said the fight occurred inside and outside the social hall north of downtown Lincoln and the University of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium.
The three Lincoln people injured were: A 25-year-old person who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, a 20-year-old who suffered stab wounds and another 20-year-old who was stabbed several times and possibly shot, Flood said.
Their names haven't been released, she said, and they were all in surgery Wednesday morning at a Lincoln hospital.
No arrests have been reported, Flood said, and a cause for the brawl remains under investigation.
About 100 to 150 people attended the event at the hall, she said, where the party ran from midnight to 2 a.m.
She said witnesses to the melee were uncooperative with Lincoln police. However, witnesses did tell police that the brawl was gang-related, Flood said, but police could not confirm any street gang ties to the party.
