Approximately one hundred people gathered at Memorial Park Sunday evening in vigil for victims of the Sandy Hook School shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Brandon Morrison, the father of a 4-year-old daughter, organized the event. "It was a feeling that overcame me," said Morrison as he heard news of the tragedy on Friday. "I felt like I had to do something."
So, with a Facebook post and word-of-mouth, Morrison brought people together.
Some brought their own candles. Others lit and let go of floating paper lanterns that lifted off toward the southeast horizon. A few sang "Amazing Grace" while the group huddled together in silent reflection.
