An Omaha teenager admitted Thursday that she left the scene of an accident that killed a pedestrian.
Mikala R. Rinehart, 17, entered a plea of admission in Douglas County Juvenile Court, said her lawyer, Bill Gallup of Omaha.
Prosecutors said her vehicle struck Frank Huerta, 64, who died after the Sept. 7 accident near 42nd and H Streets.
Rinehart was charged with leaving the scene of a deadly accident. Had she been tried as an adult, she could have faced up to five years of probation or up to 20 years in prison.
Gallup said he believes Rinehart will receive a sentence of probation.
