Forever 21 will unveil its new, expanded Westroads Mall store at 9 a.m. Saturday with gift card giveaways for the first 300 people in line and a drawing for two outfits valued at up to $150 each.
The new two-level, 31,000-square-foot store is nearly four times the size of its former Westroads location. An escalator inside the store connects the two levels.
The store specializes in clothing for young women, men and teens, and the expanded store will offer a larger selection of women’s and men’s apparel, including 21 MEN, Forever 21 girls and its extended-size line, Forever 21+.
“With the relocation of our store ... we are able to accommodate more brands and new concepts,” said Larry Meyer, the company’s executive vice president.
The retailer has 500 stores in the United States, which includes the one Nebraska store.
Peak Performance to add store
Peak Performance, the locally owned running and fitness apparel store, plans to open its fourth Omaha store in mid-January at 168th Street and West Center Road in the Armbrust Shopping Center.
A specific date hasn’t been set yet, said Mike Ewoldt, who co-owns the chain with brother Jim Ewoldt.
The retailer, which sells footwear, technical apparel, running accessories and other outdoor products, will operate five stores in Nebraska and Iowa once the new Omaha store opens. Founded in 1994, Peak Performance has launched several running events such as the Blarney Stone 5K and Beer and Bagel Run.
“This move will help us better serve our loyal customers that have been making the journey to our Bellevue, West Omaha or Cass Street locations,” the company said on Facebook.
DSS Coin & Bullion opens in west Omaha
DSS Coin & Bullion has opened a new store at 2009 S. 169th Plaza, Suite 120. The west Omaha store joins the company’s downtown location at 1906 S. 13th St. in selling coins, coin-collecting supplies and bullion, along with vintage watches, jewelry and antiques.
Founded in 2001 by David Schroeder, the company also purchases coins, precious metals, jewelry and other collectibles.
The new location features a retail showroom, waiting area and seated transaction areas, Schroeder said in a statement.
In 2004, DSS expanded into the bullion market and now offers private mint one-ounce gold and silver rounds, South African Krugerrand gold coins and other gold and silver coins. Employees are experts in U.S. coins, foreign coins, antiques and bullion, co-owner Colleen Schroeder said.
