Omaha scouting report: It took more than two months, but the 11-11 Lancers finally will get to play home games on consecutive nights. Omaha has won seven of its past nine games, and a big key to that success has been getting an early lead. The Lancers are 10-3 when scoring first and are tied for third in the USHL with those 13 first goals. … Special teams play continues to be a big part of Omaha's recent success, but that hasn't always translated to their home ice. The Lancers are ranked fourth in penalty killing at 85.5 percent but only have a success rate of 77.4 percent at Ralston Arena. Their power play percentage is .194, but at home that drops to .080 (2 for 25) in seven games. When the Lancers score a power play goal, their record is 8-3. … Saturday's game against Lincoln is the Lancers' annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Fans are encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game and throw it on the ice after the Lancers score their first goal. The stuffed animals will be donated to local Omaha charities.
