A Fremont father is being credited with coming to his 14-year-old daughter's aid early Monday by restraining a man who was sexually assaulting her.
Fremont Police Sgt. Brad Hansen said Jesus Manuel-Fuentes, 28, of Fremont was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault, three counts of third-degree sexual assault, burglary and attempted first-degree sexual assault. The suspect is being held in the Saunders County Jail.
Hansen said the victim and Manuel-Fuentes were acquainted before the 6 a.m. incident. Hansen said that on a previous occasion, the suspect had taken the girl to his residence and later brought her back.
Monday, the suspect allegedly called the girl and said he was coming to her house in Fremont, authorities said. The girl called her father, and authorities said he came home to find the suspect sexually assaulting the victim. The father restrained the man and summoned police.
