A UNO student was shot in the face in an attempted carjacking at a fast-food drive-thru, according to Omaha police reports released Wednesday.
Alexander Dike, 21, told police he was in the Burger King drive-thru lane near 72nd and Grover Streets about 10 p.m. Tuesday when a man approached his driver's side window holding a small gray gun. The suspect demanded that Dike give him his car.
Instead, Dike rolled up his window. Dike then heard one or two gunshots and realized he had been hit, police said.
Dike was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition, but his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, police said Wednesday.
Dike is a 2009 graduate of Norfolk High School and a student at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
No arrests have been made in the case.
