One person was killed and another seriously injured early Monday in a one-vehicle crash at 208th Street and West Dodge Road, authorities said.
The crash on eastbound West Dodge Road was reported at 1:15 a.m.
Omaha police said witnesses reported that a gold 2004 Saturn eastbound on West Dodge at about Skyline Drive was making multiple lane changes and speeding.
Police said the Saturn appeared to make a sudden lane change at 208th Street and veered off the roadway into the grassy median. The Saturn then entered westbound West Dodge and rolled several times, coming to rest back in the median.
Both occupants of the Saturn were not wearing seat belts, police said.
Colby Burke, 19, of Valley, Neb., was taken to Nebraska Medical Center with serious nonlife-threatening injuries. Burke suffered a broken pelvis and a head injury.
The other occupant, who has not been identified pending notification of relatives, was ejected from the Saturn and died at the scene.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Nebraska Department of Roads assisted in closing eastbound and westbound West Dodge Road while an initial investigation was completed. West Dodge was reopened about 6:45 a.m.
Police said the accident remains under investigation.
