BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Minnesota State junior offensive guard Andrew Essman is the Mavericks’ lone representative on the Daktronics Super Region 3 first team that was released on Thursday.
Essman is from Lincoln Southwest.
Northwest Missouri State kicker Todd Adolf, of Millard North, and lineman Rod Williams were also picked for the first team as was Wayne State’s Randy Weich, from Pierce, Neb.
Other Bearcats on the first team on defense were Brandon Dixon, Collin DeBuysere and Nate DeJong.
Minnesota State linebacker Marcus Hall-Oliver, from Omaha Central, was picked for the second team as was Wayne State’s Richard Daniel, who is from Papillion.
Minnesota State (12-0) hosts Missouri Western State on Saturday at noon in the SuperRegion 3 championship game. The winner advances to the national semifinals the following weekend against the winner of Super Region 1.
In Super Region 4, Chadron State’s Kevin Lindholm and Trelan Taylor have were picked for the first team and left tackle Garrett Gilkey and defensive end Keifer Burke for the second team.
