NORFOLK — A Norfolk man remained in a Sioux City, Iowa, hospital Monday after a weekend shooting in Norfolk.
Jorge Alberta Zepeda-Flores, 28, was shot in the mouth early Saturday during an altercation at Club Hollywood in downtown Norfolk. He was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, said Capt. Michael Bauer of the Norfolk Police Division.
Jordan Beehn, 28, of Madison and his wife, Kelly Beehn, 25, are suspected of being connected to the shooting.
Jordan Beehn was initially arrested on allegations of driving under the influence and operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, said Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger, who said a Stanton County deputy spotted the Beehn vehicle speeding. Jordan Beehn lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a steep ditch and tried to drive out of it, Unger said.
Jordan Beehn will be charged with first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, Madison County Attorney Joe Smith said. His bail was set at $975,000.
Kelly Beehn was cited for misdemeanor third-degree assault and was released. Her citation was in connection with an altercation with a different individual at the bar.
