FOOTBALL
Q&A: NU receiver Quincy Enunwa

The junior from Moreno Valley, Calif., is the only Nebraska receiver with at least one catch in every game this season. Heading into the Big Ten championship against Wisconsin, his 35 receptions and 408 yards both rank second on the team to sophomore Kenny Bell.

Q: Nebraska got an extra day of preparation for the Big Ten final than Wisconsin by playing Friday last week. Think that rest helps at all?

A: It was huge. You need fresh legs. You don’t get that with only one bye week. So having that day off, we got to just relax and just think about other things besides football.

Q: Are some of the receivers looking forward to playing indoors in Indianapolis?

A: Yeah, especially after last week (at Iowa) where we barely threw the ball that much. A lot of us are looking forward to just airing it out. If that’s in our game plan, then we’ll be very happy. If it’s not, then we’re ready to block for the running backs at the same time.

Q: You’re getting 7-5 Wisconsin instead of 12-0 Ohio State. Does that take anything away from this game?

A: There’s not much I can say about it. It’s unfortunate that they weren’t able to make it, to go undefeated and not get to go to a championship game. But we worked hard to get where we’re at, so we feel like we’ll deserve it (a possible championship) just as much.

Q: As somebody who went to the 2010 Big 12 championship as a true freshman, any good advice you can share with younger teammates this week?

A: Just stay focused is the main thing I can tell everybody. Don’t think of it as more than what it is. It’s another game that’s on our schedule, and we really just want to win this game just like we want to win every other game.

Q: How did you handle that 2010 game versus Oklahoma in Arlington?

A: I was excited. I played quite a bit. I don’t think that I let it get to my head too much.

Q: What would it mean for Nebraska to win a Big Ten championship in its second year in the league?

A: It’s huge. It’s what we want to do. It would be nice to have them put a banner up there that says “2012.” If they put that up there, it means we did something big.
