Omaha scouting report: The 9-9 Lancers have won five in a row, including the last three in shootouts, to get their record to .500 for the first time. … Lancers coach Mike Aikens singled out defensemen Tucker Poolman and Matias Cleland for their play in Wednesday’s 4-3 shootout victory over Lincoln. Because of game misconducts, both put in more than 50 minutes of ice time against the Stars. … Friday’s game against the Storm in Kearney will be their 15th road game in 19 contests to start the season. The Saturday game against Sioux City kicks off a five-game homestand for the Lancers. … With his two goals against Lincoln, forward Jake Randolph now has a team-leading 14 points (four goals, 10 assists). Connor Chatham is second with 12 points (seven goals, five assists).
Tri-City scouting report: The Storm improved to 8-9-1 by beating Sioux City 2-1 on Wednesday. … Tri-City is 2-1 this season against Omaha by winning the last two meetings 2-1 and 3-0. … Forward Trevor Moore scored both of the Storm’s goals against the Musketeers to raise his season total to 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists). … Forward Brian Ward has a five-game scoring streak. … The Storm are 3-6 at home this season and have been outscored 35-16 in those games.
Sioux City scouting report: The Musketeers are 3-10-3 and in eighth place in the USHL’s Western Conference, three spots behind the fifth-place Lancers. … Omaha won the first of eight meetings this season against Sioux City on Oct. 6 with a 3-2 shootout victory, its first win. … Forward David Goodwin leads the Musketeers in scoring with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) while Jake Guentzel is right behind him with 12 points (four goals, eight assists).
