UNO guard Paige Frauendorfer was named Summit League player of the week on Monday.
Frauendorfer helped the Mavs’ to their first 3-0 start since 2007-08. She averaged 16.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, and she shot 60.0 percent (21 of 35) from the floor. Frauendorfer is the first UNO women’s basketball player to receive the honor.
The Humphrey, Neb., native recorded 15 points and eight rebounds in a 58-44 season-opening win over North Carolina A&T last Monday for the Mavericks’ first win over a Division I opponent at home since their transition. Frauendorfer then put in 18 points and six rebounds along with five assists and three steals in a 79-67 win over Louisiana on Friday.
She picked up her first double-double in a 79-75 double-overtime win over Northern Arizona on Sunday with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Frauendorfer played all 50 minutes in the victory and only committed one turnover.
UNO (3-0) remains the lone undefeated team in the Summit League.
