A 21-year-old man's penchant for wearing colorful clothing led to his arrest on suspicion of 14 Omaha robberies in a four-day period.
The description of the robber's clothing jogged the memory of a northeast precinct officer, said Lt. Darci Tierney, a police spokeswoman.
The officer provided valuable details to detectives that led to the arrest of Deon A. Stewart of Omaha, Tierney said Tuesday.
He is suspected in 14 robberies from Nov. 7 through Sunday. He was being held at the Douglas County Jail on $75,000 bail.
Police say Stewart twice robbed boththe Valero's gas station at 2411 N. 30th St. and Check Into Cash at 7910 Dodge St.
He also is alleged to have robbed the following: Valentino's restaurant, 3540 Center St.; Valero's, 3874 Hamilton St.; Midtown convenience store, 1349 Park Ave.; Four Aces convenience store, 6602 N. 30th St.; Midtown convenience store, 1222 S. 24th St.; Quik Trip convenience store, 715 S. Saddle Creek Road; Bucky's convenience store, 2901 N. 72nd St.; Quik Trip, 4720 Hamilton St; Bucky's, 107 S. 40th St.; and Mid K Beauty Supply, 3048 Ames Ave.
